Alumni Football Game
"The 2025 game will mark 20 years since the first ever alumni game in Texas"
After two decades since the 2005 history making Highlands Alumni Maroon vs White football game, the game returns for a coming together of former Highlands Owls football players.
The 2005 game is open to players from the Class of 1978 - 2021. The 2005 game oldest player was William Pitts (age 45) from the Class of 1978. Mr. Pitts was a 1977 All-State team selection. The game was played on a Saturday night at Alamo Stadium, and was covered by Fox Sports Southwest. The game weekend concluded on Sunday with a Highlands HS all-class picnic at Comanche Park.
The 2005 Maroon/White teams were coached by former Highlands HS football coaches. Longtime Highlands Head Coach Paul Martin coached the White Team. Coach Martin was instrumental in bringing other former Highlands coaches to participate in the event. The 2025 teams will be coached by former notable Highlands HS football players.
The football game, held at Alamo Stadium was covered by Fox Sports Southwest. Fox Sports Southwest also did a 20 minute segment the following evening.
The 2005 game was spearheaded by William Lee '79 and Sheryl Campbell '79. William Lee returns to bring the 2025 game to fruition. Sheryl passed in 2019, but will be honored at the game. To produce the 2025 game, Mr. Lee will be assisted by many HHS Alum who played in the 2005 game.
Alum who are interested in playing in the 2025 Maroon vs White Game will need to participate in fundraisers. Unlike the 2005 game where Mr. Lee purchased and provided the equipment, the 2025 participants are asked to help raise funds for the equipment. Since 2005, equipment has tripled in cost.
Alum who are interested in playing, please click on the link below and fill out the form and provide all information. All players will need to provide a current photo, as well as proof that they attended Highlands HS.
The Maroon vs White Games is NOT affiliated in anyway with Highlands High School or the San Antonio Independent School District.
